The Jail of Bisbee

I’m Danny Joseph Keiler. My friends call me ‘Sturdy’. I’m in jail, for the marshals caught me the other day. So I thought I’d write a book about how I live as a wanted outlaw.
Well, it all started about 10 years ago.  I was wanted by Sheriff Bo Joe Catalanio. He’s the sheriff for the county I grew up in. He never liked me. We went to school together…hated me. At one time we worked together…hated me. After that I went to the big town of Bisbee. I tried to find work.  But couldn’t.  There ain’t no work for a man like me in a minin’ town. Then it came to me like a horse comes to its cowboy. I can become robber. A murderer.  Even an outlaw like me don’t dream of this growin’ up.  Ma and Pa would never want me to do nothin’ like that.  But it was the only way to survive.
I remember the day I robbed my first bank.  Some people called me stupid. I didn’t ask for all their money. I only asked for $30.  But that’s all a man like me needs.
Before my Ma and Pa found out from any of my brothers and sister I went and murdered them.  As the time went on, people started to recognize me.  He’s the short one with the striped bandanna. Well what’s wrong with havin’ a rainbow bandanna was my first thought.  Then I realized that they were gonna catch me because of my bandanna.
My guess is that you want to know if I enjoy being an outlaw. Well…yes.  I enjoy seein’ wanted ads for me.  Seein’ my picture every time I go down the street.  Havin’ people be afraid of me.  It was the best feelin’ that I ever had in my life.
Now that you heard about my first crimes… I can tell you my other crimes. I robbed 13 other banks and collected a total of $13,970 more from those 13. I murdered another 12 people includin’ 8 bounty hunters. And the judge is callin’ this a crime but it ain’t in my books… I ran away from them marshals 3 years ago.
Well now I should tell you what Sheriff Bo Joe did to me. Bo Joe went and put up a bunch of these posters sayin’ WANTED…. Danny Joseph ‘Sturdy’ Keiler.  And a bounty of $1500.  That more than any man can make in 15 years.  Unless he’s a bank robber like me, a course.
Now I would like to end this by saying thank you to my sidekicks Gunsling and Slick.  They helped me with everything.  Murder, robbery and escaping. Now I must go back into my life sentence in The Jail of Bisbee.
